The Bauer Nexus N9000 Skates are a step down from the 1N's but for the first time in the Nexus Line, this second price point features a full Curv Composite quarter package. Bauer has been using Curv in their premier skates due to the pro-preferred properties it brings to the table. The composite is lighter, stiffer, more durable and better at molding around a player's foot.
Bauer did not stop at the quarter package when upgrading this year's N9000. The liner features what used to be their top of the line models, called Hydra-Max 2. Not only is it very soft to the touch, it does a great job of wicking away moisture and keeping feet securely planted inside. Also helping to lock in the feet is the Form-Fit+ footbed that features grippy texture near the toes and in the heel that prevent slippage.
The N9000 skate has a 48 oz, two-piece black felt tongue that protects the top of the foot while doing it in style. Through the center of the tongue, Bauer included injected plastic to take impact protection to the next level. Underneath the boot is the most popular holder in the NHL, the Tuuk LS Edge and its quick release trigger system. The Tuuk LS3 steel has a pro-prefered height, giving players custom radius options, a longer sharpening life and a more aggressive turning radius.
