The X700 features a stiff Fiber Composite+ boot that was built to provide greater power, agility, and comfort than ever before. It's even 25 grams lighter than the previous X700 too!
Bauer bolstered this X700 skate by using a previously premier-only liner, called HydraMax. This is a grip-style liner works to keep the foot planted inside of the boot while also aggressively wicking away moisture. The three-piece, 48 oz tongue makes its first ever appearance at this price point too. Similar to the base of the 1X's, the three-piece design better wraps around the top of the foot for a more locked-in feel.
Below the boot, the LS1 stainless steel runners sit in the NHL's most popular holder, the Tuuk Edge. This is taller than the previous LightSpeed holder, thus allowing for a more aggressive angle of attack because the bottom of the boot won't bottom out as quickly. It also has a quick release trigger that keeps players on the ice and off of the bench by enabling them to swap out damaged or broken steel on the fly.
