Youth vs. Junior Ice Hockey Skates – What’s the Difference?
Although youth and junior skates may look similar, they are made for different age groups and performance needs:
Youth skates (EU 23.5 – 33) are designed for the youngest players. They prioritize comfort and stability. In general a softer boot, allowing the player to push the boot for optimal stride power.
Junior skates (EU 33.5 – 36.5) are made a bit older kids with more strength. Just like other size groups, different models exist, with different boot stiffness. Skate models that features more structure, stiffness, and responsiveness.
